Buen dia, friends!

Black History Month is one of our favorite times of the year at APPP, especially because we partner with and support a community that has endured for centuries to become “living” black history!  I apologize sincerely for being away this month.  In addition to several fires that needed to be tended, I was immersed in a deeply personal project that had a debut planned for Black History Month: a collection of 365 intentional and powerful affirmations for black people.

During the busy-ness of BHM, I noticed this profound quote by Bob Marley, and believe that a higher power led me to see and read it: “The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.”

While I already hope to do great things, this made me think about how others may measure or describe my work and my effect on others—and APPP’s work and effect on others?  I certainly hope to hear positive things! lol  With the hope that our great things are measured and regarded highly, I rest assured that our mission to support San Basilio de Palenque is the right thing to do and will positively impact the community and world.  And I’ll continue to work honestly and justly to leave others better than before they’ve met me, my work, APPP, and the work that we do.

How will your greatness be measured or described?  What have you done, what are you doing, or what will you do to support this?

Continue Elevating,

Erin
